Propane Gas Regulators - Fishermen at Mevagissey
Posted on 25th January 2017 at 12:31
On a very cold Friday morning last week in Mevagissey I met up with a very informative training engineer who had concerns over the quality of propane valves being installed on commercial fishing vessels.
Terry Cobain of TC Training expressed concerns that some propane/butane gas installations have the incorrect regulator fitted. The regulators should be marked "marine" and should conform to BS EN ISO 10239:214
The 30mb regulator on the left from Whayward is a marked marine and can be supplied with either a male or female inlet and 3/8" BSP outlet. The three regulators shown on the right are standard style regulators for propane/butane and are not recommended be used on commercial installations.
Price for the Whayward regulator is circa £32.50 plus Vat and delivery.
